Yes, that’s right…my own Queen Elizabeth II welcomed members of a very big corporation for their Summer Olympics’ kick-off event at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg recently. After greetings on the red carpet, I took to the podium with a little speech, followed by “Carry on.” You do know that the Summer Olympics will take place in London in July, 2012, and the Queen will be kick-starting the event. Well, after 007, that is. I am available for any of your Olympic parties from now on. If someone can get Daniel Craig to join the festivities, I’ll be there for sure. Special thanks to Strictly Entertainment in Tampa.

“Hot Nights for the War Wives of Ithaka” closed last Sunday, sadly. Eurykleia was a fun, gritty character to play. Thanks to Christopher Buehlman, Chris Holcom and everyone at Jobsite Theatre for this great opportunity. Although the critics weren’t too happy with the play, the Tampa Bay Times wrote the following kind words:
…”Other cast standouts include Penelope’s haggard servant and confidant, Eurykleia, a smirking dirty old woman played by Francine Wolf, who was easy to love;…

It’s been awhile since I posted. “The Sensuous Senator” was a smash hit! Great audiences for every show, and they howled with laughter. I can’t believe it’s been over a month since it closed. On to the next. I’m in rehearsal for “Hot Nights for the War Wives of Ithaka,” which will be the premier of a new play by Christopher Buehlman, at Jobsite Theatre in Tampa at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. We open on Thursday, March 8. You can purchase your tickets by going to the website for the Straz Center.

Sad to say Cellmates is over for now. It looks like other theatres around the country (world) will have an opportunity to perform this fabulous play, as our playwright is submitting it for publication. I wish him the best! Our audiences were teriffic! Thanks to all who came out to support us!
Below is a photo taken by actor/photographer, Midge Mamatas. Guadelupe Alvarez, one of my characters, behind bars for murder.

This is a friendly reminder to the deaf and hard of hearing community in Florida, Central Florida and Tampa Bay–our Sunday matinee on July 3, 2011 will be interpreted by Lily the Love Frog, Inc. and Friends for the deaf and hard of hearing community. The show begins at 4:00 p.m. Today at the Gay Pride event in St. Petersburg, our playwright and director, Joseph Alan Johnson, met some deaf gay men who had just moved to town, and they were thrilled to hear about our signed performance! Please spread the word. As I’ve been told, there aren’t too many theatre groups that regularly provide this valuable aid for the deaf and hard of hearing community. We want to see this Sunday show sold out!
